BackgroundA simple balloon car made from the trash from everyday life is loaded with physics and engineering concepts. When a balloon is inflated, potential energy is stored in it in the form of stretched rubber and the compressed air inside it. As the balloon zooms about the room after being released, this energy is transformed to kinetic energy—the energy of motion. Due to friction, some of the energy is transformed to heat. By using Newton's third law of motion: every action has an equal and opposite reaction, when you inflate the balloon and release the nozzle, the rubber contracts and releases the air off of the nozzle, pushing the rubber in the outward direction.&nbsp;This principle is used in advanced rockets and jets which shoot high-speed streams of gases out the back of their engines, pushing the vehicle forward.&nbsp;This car is a simple machine perched in physics for decades: the wheel and axle. Materials Required | आवश्यक सामग्री

<ul><li>Take a rectangular-shaped card.</li><li>Cut a straw according to the shape and size of the card.</li><li>Lay the straws across the cardboard widthwise, ½-inch (1.27-centimeter) from each narrow end. Make sure that the straws are straight and parallel to the ends of the cardboard.</li><li>Use glue or tape to paste a straw against the card.</li><li>Take 4 bottle caps and hole the middle part with nails or any sharp-pointed objects.</li><li>Now, cut skewers into the size of the straw and insert them into the bottle cap. If you want you can glue it so it doesn’t loosen.</li><li>Turn the car so that it is standing on its wheels. Tape the straw to the top of your car. Make sure that the straw is straight.</li><li>Hang the balloon at the edge of the straw. The science behind this experiment is all about energy.&nbsp;When the balloon is inflated it stores the compressed air and stretched rubber as potential energy.
